I could care about the greeter at the entrance, the big smiles with the pretty woman at the entrance nearest to the door, or a big banner saying we are here to help as you walk in. What I Need from a store is people on the floor, in various departments who are actually there to help. I want them to be knowledgeable about their area, and be able to point me in the direction of my next task within the store. In the check out lines I want them to be knowledgeable about the payment methods and I want them to be quick but courteous. Nothing irks me More than when someone is paying with a gift card and the line stops for 10 minutes while the cashier looks for a manager to help her figure it out. In addition, the cashiers who try to be too friendly and take 5-7 minutes with each customer chatting about how cute their baby is or what vacation are they going to take, need to be taught that we are not here to socialize and one or two short comments are all it takes to put a smile on the customers' faces.

Yes I care if the service is good. There are 2 stores I won't go to now simply because the service is soooo bad. On the other hand, I am willing to pay a little extra for stores that seem to have it down pat.

with the economy in the terrible shape that it's in, i might go somewhere with poor customer service to get a lower price. however, i value customer service, when i can afford it. i will frequent the stores that provide a better experience for me whenever i can. i'd rather pay a little extra for some attention when i need it. that's one reason why i hate shopping at christmastime because it's very difficult to find that special attention.

I do care if the service is good....I know all different ages work at these places with all kinds of education levels and lifesyles...and those things dont worry me...what does get to me is when someone is rude, or snobby....or has no time for you.....its your job to help me when I go in a place like that......I am a nurse, so if I let someone die, because I needed a break or didnt like them...I would get fired...its the same thing(almost)

I have worked in customer service for several years and I pride myself in my customer service so I expect the same treatment when I am at a store or counter.

If I need help I want to find someone to ask and I want them to solve my problem even if they have to get someone else.
Warehouse stores that have heavy things on high shelves need for the first person I tell I want one down needs to make sure I get one. I will wait while they get machinery, taller or stronger help or whatever but I don't want to be told go over and ask someone else. Then when I get the object I can't lift I want help loading it. I have had other customers help me load things after waiting 5-10 minutes for help the checker said would help me.
Sometimes I bring my own help, I shouldn't have to do that.

Its a cop-out whilst the offending physique is frequently perfect, and the indignant cant refute it any different way. The police love telling you to no longer swear once you're patently disillusioned and not swearing at them. shopper help like to declare you impolite or aggressive in case you improve your voice. Its no longer something new! those human beings are basically doing that line of artwork by using fact the two no one else will, or they have not have been given any coaching.

I expect people to help me if I need help and be happy to do so. I really appreciate people who like to help customers solve problems. If someone is rude to me when I ask for help I will usually report it to the manager. Also, I like to be greeted by cashiers and told thank you when I pay for my merchandise. I really expect good service. If someone does not like their job and that job is helping people they should do something else.

I don't expect them to jump thru hoops but basic civility and politeness is nice. A greeting, professional attitude, no cell phone use or conversation with coworkers...no attitude, indifference. Energetic pace.

Yes, I care if the service is good. I'm a firm believer in the Golden Rule "Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you." If I'm polite to you, I expect you to be polite to me. If not, karma will get you eventually. :)
