I am interested in both of these programs very much and they both have the same amount of school. I would like to know which one gets pay more up front or in the long run? And which one have more job opportunities? Right now I am a legal assistant and I make $33,000 a year but I have always had a passion for the medical field and kinda bord with the legal field now and can not see myself doing this for the rest of my life. I now through time I will work my way up but with the medical field I know there is a need and more money than a legal asst. Which one make more Surgical Tech or X-Ray Tech?

I'm a surgical tech going on 9 years. For me it never gets old... I love every minute of it. Rad Techs make more, but being a surg tech is SO much more fun. They couldn't pay me enough to be a Rad Tech. My reason for that is that surgery fascinates me. Anything else to me would be boring.

Check out each program with your local technical school. See which one you think would interest you the most. Read up on both fields, and keep asking questions. That's the only way to find out what you think you'll like for quite some time.

Radiologic technologists make more than surgical techs, but it's possible that it depends on your location because pay for rad techs really varies around the country. Personally, I wouldn't want to spend every day in the OR.
