I'm 16 right now. But, in 2008-2009 I'm going to be a senior and I will also be 17 years old. I won't be busy during that summer going into senior like I have in the past, so I want a summer job. Thanks a lot.

I make great money but don't have enough to do. I get tired and become so bored that I play around on the internet. I use to work from home so being in the office makes me feel like a trapped animal. I would rather run laps in the office then sit here with NOTHING to do. Open for suggestions.

I am a Singaporean and in this city state getting old is a sin. No employing company would want to take you in because been old equates to higher hidden cost to maintain you and expected lower productivity unless you are a aparking star.

how do you clarify that. For example, the bank I worked for started out as one name, merged with another bank and changed names then was bought by a third bank and changed names again. Would I list the current bank name and put the date I started at the first bank or list each bank with the dates I worked for each bank?

I recently interviewed an extremely qualified job candidate. Unfortunately, that person did not get the job. However, a friend of mine at another company is looking for qualified candidates. He asked me to forward any resumes of people who I would recommend. Is it wrong (unethical, illegal, subject to lawsuit, etc) to forward the resume without that person's consent or knowledge?

I just turned 13 and it seems every babysitting job i try to get some girl takes it and other the parents don't want a boy but a girl.
Why do only girls get jobs as babysitting? And what else can i do at 13 except for that scam online work, yard work or a paper route?

With all the craziness surrounding gas prices, is being a trucker going to become more difficult in the future? Will the increased cost of gas cause truckers to make a lot less money?

It's a retail store that's currently hiring. I didn't do HORRIBLE at it but I know that I could've done better. I just studdered a bit at the beginning but did better as it went on.

in Holtsville, NY? Anybody. I think they are going to offer me a job there. I'm not sure whether to take it. If it's more than 30% dealing with taxpayers over the phone, I don't think I want it.
If it's mostly examining returns and sending out written notices, I can handle it.

I work at a hair salon and my boss/the owner thinks I love my job and that I'm happy because I never complain and I'm always smiling (because I'm that kind of person). But I've been there for 7 weeks and I really don't like the job mainly because we hardly have any customers. It's more like an awkward social gathering every single shift, because we have no customers and we end up having to make "small talk" with each other all day long. It's nothing like I expected it to be and I have a real hard time getting up in the morning to go to work cause it's sooooooo boring. We literally have like only 2-3 customers a day. So I was thinking of approaching my boss and telling her that I'm not too happy with the position so that when I do quit in a few weeks or so, it wont be a total shocker. But me telling her that I hate the job will be shocking to her, so how can I tell her?

I have been an addiction counselor for a few years. I want to move into business, so I can make more money. I deal with people and paperwork all the time, so I figure Human Resources could be a good fit. Is it boring? Whats it like ?

Cont. I was told by the interviewer there was 14 positions needed to fill. I'm asking since I just saw the re-posting does that mean I didn't get it or of those that were interview, there was not enough to fill the 14 position requirement. It's really bugging me and I wanted this job. I was going to give them 14 days before I send a follow up letter but now I'm not sure. If I didn't get it, shouldn't I received something in the mail by now. I would think after 3 interviews and the last one was the final (phone). Is there a way to see if a background check has been done on you. Someone please let me know, thanks.

I'm looking at musical theatre or a career in publishing (preferably editorial or in production), but I'm not sure which will be more stable. I was also wondering if there are actually jobs outside of New York to be had in publishing. Thanks in advance.

I work for a team, and they are usually on the field. So the best way for me to communicate something is by text. Lately, one of them had been replied back in capital letters. If there is something that he doesn't like he sends me text like that. I had been working for them for almost 6 years, and time to time any of them start treating me very demanding. I had been very supportive of them, 'cause I need the job. But lately, I feel confused and sometimes even ignored, or just bellitled. Last week, I had to take my husband to the airport, and I was late. I was very reprimended over the phone. But they never take in consideration, that even when is my break time, I do answer his phone calls, or on weekends or late at nite. Sometimes I work overtime, without being paid for that. I though that time may could compensate for that. They are going under a lot of stress, but I don't think I have to pay a share of that, too. Is this a signal that I should start looking for another job?

I put in my request and they told me no. I told them that I go to school and that because of that I have a complicated schedule, and they still said no.

How long should I wait to contact him again. I e-mailed him monday and his E-mail sent me a message saying he will be out of the office until today. I really want this job....should I just go ahead and fax my resume....or is it ok to send it to him as an attachment in another e-mail

There is an entry-level job I am going to apply to, and I'm not sure who I should send it to. I know the name of the man - and have his e-mail - who would do the hiring for my particular job. However, on the company website, they provide a specific "career" e-mail, and mention that resumes, etc. should be sent to this address.

My second problem. If I send my resume and cover letter to this "career" e-mail address, should I change my cover letter to NOT be addressed to this guy (it is addressed to him now)? Or should I just leave it as it is?
