I have been an addiction counselor for a few years. I want to move into business, so I can make more money. I deal with people and paperwork all the time, so I figure Human Resources could be a good fit. Is it boring? Whats it like ?

Depending on the responsibilities assigned, you will be responsible for handling quite a bit of employee paperwork. All documents are to be handled with the utmost confidentiality of course. Employees will have issues that are relevant and irrelevant to their jobs. You must be able to me empathetic, resourceful and on the same token, direct. Given your experience as being a counselor, you should be a perfect fit. I wish you the best of luck during your transition. Regards

Lots of decisions about people that doesn't always agree with your own opinion.
Confrontation, which should be Ok for you with your experience, but was hard for me. It wil be hard for you not to counsel when there are problems. If you need to fire someone, you fire them and get on to the next appt.
