I had a really long interview yesterday and heard back today that I pretty much have the job. I need to send thank you cards today but am not sure what to say. Two people interviewed me and we were all on a first name basis. What should I write in my thank you cards? This is a big, professional firm. Thanks!

I think it's proper to use Mr or Mrs or Ms with the last name in addressing those people. All you need to say is a paragraph with thank you for your time, i'm very interested, and would love the opportunity to join your firm. Do an internet search for "thank you interview letter" and you should find a few good examples. best of luck!

Even though you were on a first name basis during the interview I don't think that being formal (Mr. Mrs., Ms. XYZ) is a bad thing for the thank you.

Some thing simple like:

Dear Mr. XYZ,

I very much enjoyed meeting with you today and learning what your company has to offer. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Cordially,

This shows the employer how you are capable to being professional in writing and is a follow up to the interview.

Good luck.

I don't know why someone would say its unprofessional to send one?! I have always sent one after an interview, and always gotten an offer or at least a second interview.

Be formal, mr/mrs so and so... thank you for taking the time to meet with me, I feel I can become an asset because ..... I look forward to hearing from you regarding this position, I can be reached at .....

Try doing a search online for interview thank you samples, they always help me!

Good Luck

ok if you can try to find out their last names that would be good, then say thank you for taking time out of your schedule to interview me. it was a pleasure meeting you and i hope to be seeing you again.. or something along those lines, you should try to make it at least 3 lines long but sometimes it's ok if the sentences are in detail you should add something in about what you did,for ex. say thank you for letting me show you my computer skills (just an ex. though) word everything very nicely and make sure it flows.. also you might want to make 2 thank you cards one for each person it shows you put even more effort into the cards..and if you dont live that far you might even consider dropping them off so they get there faster...good luck

First, thank each person who spoke with you for taking the time to meet with you, stress each positive point of the interview, and say you are really excited about becoming a member of the team. Reiterate the things you had in common with each interviewer. The thank you note is a nice touch of professionalism.

good luck!

I certainly wouldn't send a card. It's very unprofessional.

"pretty much have the job?!"" Is this a SOLID job offer - are they sending you one in the post.

A job isn't a job until you have an official offer letter which a professional firm will give you.

Do not send anything like until you have this - you will look foolish, immature and unaware of how a business operates. (no offence)

When you have recieved this offer letter - a simple professional one back stating you accept will suffice.

You are obviously a nice person but this is business - they can find out about your sweet personality once you are working for them. A thank you card is not the way to go about this.
