I hold a masters in Elementary Education/ Curriculum Development- Bachelors in Liberal Studies/Elementary Education, and an Associates in Criminal Justice. I have taught at Elementary level for 4 years and middle/High school Social Studies for 3 years. I also teach in a prison during the summer.

Several years ago, we had a former teacher apply for a job where I worked. She was an English major. I hired her to help write business process procedures, and she worked out great.

In your case, go to your state's website. They might have some interesting openings that fit your qualifications.

There are plenty of things you can do because as a teacher you know how to:

manage people
mannage a crowd
create assesments
communicate

Most airline stewarts are former teachers, as are insurance and fiancial services sales people. You can also find work as a social services, or jobs that are customer service based. And, although it will be a step back, you can always go back to school to learn a new trade or vocation.

Maybe start your own tutoring business.
