im only 13 but i ALWAYS think about what life will be like when im an adult. you know, what ill name my kids, what my wedding will be like, etc. anyways, i thought being a wedding planner would be a great job. if you are/know a wedding planner, please give me some info on what its like! thanks!

To be a wedding planner or to work in the events at all i recommend that you study events after high school. You'll need to have awesome time management skills and be able to work in a highly stressful environement without loosing the plot so to speak. It can be very draining on you leading up to the event. The first event that I did I think I got about 5 hours of sleep or less each night leading up to and on the days of the event (it was a 5 day business conference for politicians!). I don't recommend starting with that!
Also try and get some work experience in the industry that you want to work in.
I don't do weddings unless they are for friends, I do festivals and meetings/conferences. And to start I got in with the local council events, studied and got a job where I am now and I love it!

Congratulations for thinking so far ahead, and then doing something about it!
It's important to know the professions who will be helping you to plan the weddings. For example, photographers and the kinds of work they do, and for how much. You will also need to know bakers for the cakes, caterers and the kind of food they cook, florists, tent rentals, temporary lighting designers, chair and table rentals, places that can be rented for holding the weddings -and lots more.
By the way, when you have kids in the future, you'll need to think about what names your husband may want to use, not just the ones you want.
If you watch any of the cable wedding shows, you will learn a lot. The fantasy weddings will need the most help from a planner. One show like that is called "Platinum Weddings." Another, which you will run into from time to time, is called "Bridezillas." You should tape all of these and watch them over and over. You will learn a lot.
