A schedule was posted, with me off on Thursday and Friday(posted at the first of the week, Monday). My boss is now claiming that I have to work on Friday and if I don't show up, I'll be terminated. Is this legal?

I have just returned from the Peace Corps and have been job searching for the last two months while eating away at my savings. I was offered a job yesterday but it is not really what I want. Nonetheless I am supposed to go in Monday for paperwork. The job I really want is supposed to be making a decision among us three candidates next week. What do I do?? Do I wait for the job I really want, even if I may not get it? I am not as qualified as I thought I would be after the Peace Corps, but I would love it. Or, do I take the safety job even though I don´t like it as much?? Should I call and postpone the meeting on Monday, or be honest and tell them about the opportunity? Or just try to wait it out? Or tell them no?? I don´t know!!

I was contacted by an employer saying to come to a group interview or if I can't attend that I can do a phone interview. I hate interviews period, but I hate talking in groups of strangers even more. Why are more companies doing group interviews instead of the traditional one on one interview? Also, how would they percieve me if I choose the phone interview over the group interview? Any answers from anyone in H.R. would be greatly appreciated or from someone who knows first hand.

Hi I am looking for a job for my boyfriend he is 20. I'm a buyer at boeing/model. He has tattoos..and piercings.. I am wondering if you could list all the top jobs he would be able to do with 3-4 years of exp., with working.
Jobs that are good pay with dental benifits... anything you can think of.
I am sure he can become a model but we all know that's crap pay.
I know boeing would hire him, But is there any other jobs? also.. that sound fun, or creative.
(BESIDES tattoo artist)

When in a job interview, how do you answer this question:

"Why should we hire you?"

Over 12 months ago my husband was made supervisor ..to be reviewed in 6 months , it never was . .He has been running his department short staffed and working up to 84 hours a week during this period and has repeatedly requested his contract be updated. His working hours have been changed from 8 hour to12 hour shifts and he hasnt been given the pay rise he was promised in October. His union seem useless and he cant afford to leave. There is talk of contracting out his department and under TUPE regs you have to transfer under the same conditions as your currant contract . Is it law that they give him a new contract?
