I mean what is the major content of these types of letters. In addition, what are the main subjects that I have to mention? Furthermore, are there particular formats for these kinds of letters?

Please help if you can. My husband got a transfer to K.C. from Ohio. I would like to have a job to go to once I arive in K.C. My problem is I have been very unsuccessful in doing this. I have tried careerbuilder.com and have had two interviews. I have had other employers that have contacted me for interviews but I can not go to K.C. everytime a employer wants a interview. I not only currently work but I also have a 2 yr. old son. I have a 4 year degree in business administration and I dont understand why I am having so much trouble trying to find a job. Do employers ever give preliminary interviews over the phone? If you can help or have any suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate it.

I work for a really large company, and I am great at what I do. There are two seperate parts to my job, one of them is project managing, and he other is gathering information needed for Designers. Back in June of 06, I was asked if which part of my job that I preferred, and I let them know. A few months passed (Aug.), and they finally offered me a promotion to do the "gathering of information" job -Image Resouce Specialist. I signed paperwork(Sept), and was told that as soon as someone was trained to cover my old position, I would be trained and start the new position. A new person started in October fully trained. I have been consistanly asking about my propmotion, and there is no answer. I am doing the job (since Sept 06)...but I have not seen the pay increase. I have written emails to my supervisor, but she just keeps saying she is busy and will get to me as soon as she can. Now my annual pay raise was only merited on my old rate not what I should be making doing the new job?

Hi,I am looking for any info on getting a job in engineering in New York. I have a degree in civil engineering technology (ordinary degree) and a degree in Civil Engineering (Honours) with about 5-6months summer work experience. I’m trying to organise employment from Ireland but its proving difficult. I will require a work visa which may deter possible employers but once i secure a job i can get up to an 18 month work visa with a possibility of an extension depending on the employer. I also have accomodation etc in Manhattan. Has any one get any idea were to look or any experience on this matter. Thank you.

I am 20 years old and just finished college for oil and gas admin. and have a really good job. One problem, I'm not very happy with what I am doing. I love cooking and baking and making up new recipes and would love to consider a career in cooking/baking. I am unsure of how to go about this. I do have about 6 years experience in restraunts but not as a cook. Anyways, my questions is, how would you go about finding out more information about making a career of cooking and what kind of certifications can you get to find a job?
Thanks

Someone noticed my resume on Craigslist, but I received an email telling me that he will hire me and pay $10 cash. There is no such thing as a one person office. below is the ad:

OFFICE HELPER

My office is a mess... need my bills and documents organized and put in folders. Need things entered into the computer. Need boxes filled and put unto shelves (20 lbs.). Some phone work (like calling and getting current status on the account be it for money, billing, shipping).

Person I'm looking for must be organized and detailed and NOT let messiness get to you... look at it as a calling for you to make $10 an hour cash.

It sounds suspicious to me. Does this sound like a great offer?

I've been trying to get a job working at a public radio station in the news department for over a year. Each time I've sent a resume, I've gotten a personalize letter back saying they would keep my on file. This week, however, I got a similar response, but a news director there invited me to come in next month to spend a day there and shadow a reporter. I'm somewhat encouraged by this because this time it's not simply a no. I wrote back to say I would be happy to go. Do you think this is a good sign at all?

I am looking to join a new company soon, I gave my career recuriter a salary expectation. However, I failed to research throughly. No job offer yet probably will come next week, in the meantime, my current company matches up to 6% in 401K contribution, and add in up to anther 3% to 401K per company performance. My pontential new company give 4% match period. So would it be fair for my to add in additional 2% for the 401K difference? Also how do I account for the additional 3% performance based 401K contribution? I think my company gave us 2% in performance based 401K dollars. Would it be fair for me to ask my new company to give me additional 4% on top of my salary?

Hi Friends,

I am currently a Londoner and I have just completed my MA. I really do not wish to be in London at the moment. I would like to go abroad for a short period of time to acquire some valuable work experience. I have been particularly thinking of the USA (New York, Miami) and Japan (Tokyo).

My BA (hons) was in history whilst my MA has been in International Politics. Most of my work experience has been within banking and Finance. So I am actually considering a career in a wide variety of areas.

I would be grateful if you can give me job websites, recruitment websites. I already know about www.monster.com. Any others???
