I want to be a writer and I'm planning on going to NY to become a famous writer. But the problem is that I live in Canada and I don't know how to persue my dream. What should I do?

Never write to become famous. It will never happen that way. You will be writing what you think other people want to read. You should write about what you know. Write because you enjoy creating a wonderful story. If you get famous, great, but don't be disappointed if it never happens. There are plenty of talented writers out there who never make it.
What is the problem with being in Canada? That shouldn't make any difference at all. Stay put, take some creative writing classes, and don't get to discouraged when your stories are turned down numerous times, because they will be, no matter how good they are. I hope you make it! Good luck!

I would do something else part time to get an income built up, and write the rest of the time. Try what I do - I work from home for a wonderful company that is a member of the BBB, offers full training, and supports me every step of the way. I set my own hours and answer to no one.
