About Technical Jobs

We have recently aquired a manager who thinks that the best way to get a job done is to inject the fear of god into everyone. By this, we are all definitely getting the job done but also to scared to even breathe when he walks by. Is this efficient.... or will productivity be just as good if the workplace is a happy, fun place to be in??

I worked at GameStop for almost 4 years and was just terminated for entering false customer information on a return. I didnt get their name and address properly. Was wondering if this was a form of misconduct and how should I approach it.

I am lookinf for a full time job in clerical. I was laid off my last job. So far I have handed out resumes to offices, posted many jobs on line, secured and interview and did well and will be looking for work through a program where I can secure a job with the department of labor. Is there anything else that I can be doing to procactively look for and secure a job? I want to work not only for a salary but to stay busy and active and to help others with the gifts and talents and abilities that I have. Thank you for any answers you have.

I may be forced with a big decision soon. Whether to go to Memphis for a job, or Cincy for a job? I personally am leaning towards Cincy, but I'd like other opinions. And these two cities are my only choices right now because of possible job opportunities coming up....so please no persuading me to move anywhere other than these two places. Thanks.

I was fired from my job due to some nonesensical reason, but basically it was because my boss and I did not get along and he was looking for a technicality to get me out of there and found it. I have dozens of email addresses of people in the company and want to send some emails totally making fun of him and humiliating him. I would send it anonymously and from an Internet cafe, so that there is no trace to me. Now the company, of course, is going to know it came from me, but they have no proof whatsoever if I do it anonymously and from an internet cafe. Is there anyway I can get into trouble?

One of my work colleages, has very bad working practices. We both work as nurses. They work after work for a consultant & work for cash in hand so they don't pay tax on this money they earn.
There current partner came to visit the department (they also work at the hospital) he got someone to cover the clinic they were working in, so he could go into one of the consulting rooms to make out with his partner. I heard he used to do this all the time with his last partner.
The person they are dating is assisting the matron so if he wants time off (part of his holiday time), he doesn't use the normal channels he just speaks to his partner who arranges it with the department matrons so he has days off at the drop off a hat.
I've not worked in the department long & it's a very closed group, so I'm not sure how to or if I should be report this, I was thinking about writing to the HR department. I'd be greatful for peoples views & ideas on how to deal with this.

I have been looking for work in the Cleveland area for nearly two months. My resume, appearance, and interviewing skills are adequate. In addition to street-level help wanted signs I have pursued work through newspaper listings and 6 employment agencies.

Most job opportunities that I contact directly do not even courtesy me with a reply. This unprofessional behavior occurs at all levels of employment, from licensed professionals to food services. I have asked for help, and I try to do each thing my friends suggest. I have had no luck. This poor luck has progressed far beyond any degree of improbability. I am stuck and almost out of ideas.

Any good advice from the yahoo community would be appreciated.

Additional details:
I have an undergraduate degree, a B.S.
I do not mind working in any particular environment, very open to employment options.

I know that I cannot quit trying to find work, but I have done nearly everything I can think of in this city. Getting frustrated.

What training do you need to be a real estate agent? What training do you need to become one, and how would you go about becoming one?
If you're a real estate agent/broker, how is the income?

Would it be a good idea to be a real estate agent while in college?

Thanks in advance!

I am currently seeking another job opportunity outside of the Mortgage industry. I have received one job offer that is outside the Mortgage industry that pays more than what I make now.

I am currently a temp/contractor thru a Mortgage company. My current boss has offered me a perm position and has already submitted the paperwork for that...but that was over a month ago. And lately- I have not been happy at work because of a couple of people there and how stressfull the job has become. I have even heard a few of my co- workers saying that they are thinking of leaving...some have even quit. Its a good job with great pay- but I would like to be out of the Mortgage Industry.
Just recently, I asked what was going on and what was taking so long with me becoming perm. My boss told me that it still has to go thru a few other people to approve me to be perm and then he told me to hang tight. I am honestly tired of waiting since it has been over a month.
Should I take the other job or stay?
