I was fired from my job due to some nonesensical reason, but basically it was because my boss and I did not get along and he was looking for a technicality to get me out of there and found it. I have dozens of email addresses of people in the company and want to send some emails totally making fun of him and humiliating him. I would send it anonymously and from an Internet cafe, so that there is no trace to me. Now the company, of course, is going to know it came from me, but they have no proof whatsoever if I do it anonymously and from an internet cafe. Is there anyway I can get into trouble?

He can sue you for defamation. You could go to court if the emails you send even have alittle bit of falsehood to them. If you MUST send this email, do so very carefully. But my advice is to just not send it. Seriously, you could be making major problems for yourself.

Revenge is one of the seven evil sins. It won't accomplish anything and could possible make getting re-employed harder.

People get fired all the time. Better than 80% of the time, it has nothing to do with the person's competency. Something went horribly wrong and mistakes were make on both sides but the employee gets the boot. Or it's something political such as your case. Your manager just didn't like you and wanted you gone. Trying to get back at him by embarassing him through unsolicited e-mail may not exactly be illegal, but you will then earn the scorn of the entire company. No one is impressed by that crap. It's comes across as immature, silly and juvenile (something out of a teen movie!) It may sound funny to you but it won't impress anyone at the company.

Even though you were fired, you can still get a reference from the company. Instead of smearing your former manager, call HR. Say that you understand you're job is over at the company. "Now that I'm unemployed, I need to get another job. Is there anyway I can get a reference?" If the HR rep is familiar with your case and knows it was political, he/she can arrange a reference. It's done a lot as I had one done for me once.

Having a reference from your last employer is important when trying find a new job. Without it, it will appear very suspicious to the potential employer. If they then inquire, HR will tell them that you were fired then sent anonymous e-mail blast to the entire company smearing your former manager. There goes your next job!

Be smart, not a smartass!!

revengeful....

anyways it depends on the content of what our saying, if it somehow damages anything in anyways (e.g. someone quitting due to this, slowed productivity due to this) you can be sued, but they wont have proof that you did this so theyll probally lose in court (but its a waste of time). If your going to do this anonymously, create and email address at the internet cafe, and send the email from there. however you can maybe still somehow get caught, i wouldnt know how but there some crazy technology out there so i cant guarantee this.

good luck!

I wouldn't do it. The second you think you are computer smart, along comes the computer genius.

BTW, what do you mean by "nonesensical"? I'm pretty sure that's not a real word.

The fact that you want to retaliate sort of tells to me that maybe you didn't get along with your boss b/c you don't deal with things in rational ways.

What you want to do is something a 12 yr. old WOULD do. I'm sure most mature people THINK of doing something like you want, but only a 12 yr. old WOULD DO IT.

Yes, I think that you can. If the person really wanted to they could trace the e-mail to the computer that you used it from. If they really wanted to they could find you and depending unpon what you said could press charges.
If I where you I would find a really bad picture of him. (Not just him making a funny face in the picture.) and post it all over the internet. That would be awsome.

Your wanting anonymous revenge is part of the personality that kept you from being accepted.

You job in life is to be agreeable and do what others tell you to do who are in charge of you at that time.

As long as you don't make libelous remarks, no. If, as you say, they will know it came from you, it may f*** you up when you apply for a new job, as your previous employer will be less inclined to give you a good (or any) reference, but do you really care about that?

take the high road and be the better person. if you were wrongfully terminated hire a lawyer, that would have a better effect of your boss than some silly emails..

I don't think you could get into to trouble, but you might get people who still work there into trouble.
