I have a very low UCAS point score, but despite this, I have since managed a 2:1 in a BSc degree & a merit in an MSc degree. I want to apply to big jobs but have to lie about my UCAS points and hope they never ask for proof of my results. Can any companies find out my actual score for themselves without asking me through my school or UCAS? Does the data protection act come into this?

Thanks.

I recently overheard a conversation that my boss I believe was having about me on the phone. I am not sure if he knew where I was or not. Talked about salary, resume on the internet. Lack of a girlfriend in fairly suburan area. All was aware of dark horse of myself arriving late to class after having a one night stand right before a test in their training . Each traine costs 100k for a year in expense to be trained. Major metroplitian area filled with young singles is 30 mintues away. I applied for a transfer with the job 6 months into it. I am in training program the company has office in the major city but I am in their suburan office. Since I have applied for the transfer things have steadily gone down hill. I have been continutally micromanaged and belideled. Cited negatively in performance reviews, issues have been fixed. An heard the boss said he things I will quit since i wont be transfered. If I hang it out will I ever get transfer? Will they fire me first or get me to quit.

I work in a company that the average person has been here 5+ years and anyone who has less senority is ignored. The position that I was hired for has been dummied down so that my boss would not offend the two other people in the department. We wouldn't want them to be upset that they had done anything wrong.....After a short time I relaized that I worked with perfect people.

My word document has the grid lines from formatting on it. I tried to merge, but then my format changed completely. I tried to send it as a regular text file, and the format changed then too.

It was originally formatted on a Mac, now I have a PC. Do I have to start over? I really like the way it looks now--I don't like how it looks when it gets reformatted, it's too hard to read.

Can I send a targa or jpeg? The company doesn't specify what format it should be.

Thanks!

I am trying to find a job an I know of a few buildings that have various kinds of customer service, inbound and outbound telemarketing jobs. Should I have a cover letter for each one? Should I have copies of resumes with different objectives on each? Should I leave the resume with the receptionist or should I try to leave with an HR manager? I just want to take some initiative versus trying to look through the want ads.

I just recently got a job at a well-known company that process electronic funds over the net.

I already worked there for 2 weeks and the job is beyond easy, mostly because I like the work they give me. This job, job1, is full of people of my age, 23-25 and are still playful and not all that serious. The problem is that I can only work part-time, which is fine, I can use such time for school, and still can survive part-time due to the rate they are paying me. Plus there is this girl who works there that I really like.

Job2 is a corporate environment where people are in their 30s and up. It's well developed company where people are serious about what they do; however, I don't like the work environment, it's life-less. People there are not ambitious about meeting goals, they just want to do the bare minimum. They just want to do their 9-5 and get home to live a steady life. In other words, they will not risk it all or try new thing because of their newfound viewpoint "Why bother".

I have. He's pathetic. I work in a Sales Environment and this guy is a salesman. Every single time he gets off the phone he goes running to his boss to let him know what was discussed. If his boss is not around he runs to our MD. It makes me want to spew.

Any help is appreciated.

Actually I applied to 6 colleges and got in only Illinois Urbana-C and Gatech so far. I am sad and I don't know if I will get into UMich Ann-Arbor. I want to do Computer Science so I guess I have nothing to worry about but a part of me is artistic and creative and feels it will get suppressed at an overly tech college. Michigan is good at so many things.

I'm scared I won't get in there...

I have been hired for a month at a multi billion dollar company at a pay rate of $75k per year.

There are no guarantees that this will turn into a full time position but it is a possibility.

At the same time, i have just been offered a sure thing position at a diffrent comapny where they will pay me $50k.

Do I stay at the big job and hope it turns into full time, or do I take the sure thing for the peace of mind.

For the past two years I have suffered from very severe depression, and have not worked for nearly 2 years.

I left my job due to illness. I am feeling better now and would like to return to employment. However I don't know where to start! I am worried about employers will say because of the 'stigma' I don't want to work in my previous career (social care) as I don't think I would able to cope with the stress.
I have no other significant work experience and post 18 qualifications in any other field.
I also only want to work part time (flexible hours) due to my health.

What should I do? Help!

(BTW I'm UK based)
