Combination of education and employment history. Has this person jumped from job to job? Are there gaps of time between jobs, how long? Have they moved from state to state? How long have they stayed with an employer? What kinds of duties have they performed at their various jobs? Do they seem like the kind of person who is willing to do what ever it takes to get the job done? Are they a self starter or do they need to be micromanaged?

I am assuming that you want to know what employers look FOR when they are hiring employees. Well, while each employer is different, there are some standard things: someone who will actually do the work, someone who will be on the job long-term, someone who fit in with the employees already working there, and someone who has a great attitude and good potential.

First impressions are very important. Do you offer your hand? Are you well groomed? Clothes clean and tidy?? Are you smiling, confident..or are you nervous and frowning? Are you on time for the interview? Do you look the employer in the eye during the interview? Do you answer without " ummms" or" ahhhhs" Do you stay on topic? Are you afraid to ask questions?
Employers want people who are able to interact comfortably with others, be it co -workers or clients. They want honest, hard working people who are not afraid to give that little bit extra. If you can come across as that person during the interview and show some confidence in yourself,,then you are on your way!!
