I am currently an undergraduate psychology major and I'm looking into becoming an LPC (licensed professional counselor) and/or a life coach and I was just wondering which regions or cities in the U.S. have the highest demand or employ the greatest number? The reason I'm wondering is because each state has some differences in the qualifications for licensure, so I'd like to move somewhere where there is a great demand before I get licensed. Thanks for your help!

In other words, if I was working on opening an account (printer supplies) had not sold yet, can I re contact that prospect at my new location? And why can't I contact clients one time only, as a courtesty, letting them know where they can contact me? How is that unethical?

I am currently a Biomedical Engineering student. I LOVE MATH, science, some physics, and all analytical things. However, I cannot stand engineering.

Why? I don't know. I don't want to work for a big corporation all my life. I don't want to work in a male dominated atmosphere (I had a job at a rapid prototyping center and the males were horrible to work with- i.e. "Oop, go do that with Sophie, she's a girl." "Why are females so ______?"

I always wanted to go into a field where I could help people who really need it (the underdogs)- originally I wanted to go to med school and work at a free clinic.

Money is NOT an issue.

I really want to work with kids who have special needs- give them the care and attention and good teaching they need.

But I am SO SCARED that I am going to miss calculus, and thermodynamics, etc, etc. How can I incorporate these things into my life without a career in them?

I just got fired today ... again! I have a criminal felony record that cannot be expunged, nor sealed. I'm a Registered Sex Offender from an incident back in 1997, and completed my probation in 1999.

I also have a colostomy (from having had colon cancer) and I'm HIV+. I NEED HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS pronto to get my colostomy appliances and get my HIV care (medicines too). In the past 3 months I've gotten fired or turned away countless times because of my criminal background.

What can I do to survive? Who would hire me?

I am a college grad. have been out of school for 10 yrs trying to get into HR w/o any luck. I have had 3 HR interviews in the last 4 months & am at the point of wanting to give up. I have not had a permanent job in almost 3 years. I am currently working a temp. job. The company is probably going to offer me a permanent job as either a Secretary or an Admin. At 33 years of age I kind of feel like I should be doing better than that. The job is paying 35K. What do you guys think should I take the job?

I just wondered why Indiana regulations don't make an RN, especially someone who only got the license as a just in case type situation keep updated on procedures and issues to renew their licenses? I work with someone who never had any on the job experience and only got the RN license as a just in case. She's been working in a factory for seven years. I would hate to think that she could get hired in a hospital or medical facility without ever retraining or having to update her skills. Seven years of not doing anything with it seems like a long time. Can anyone enlighten me on this.

I am currently interviewing and have had two instances where I was told during the interview that the previous employee "left a mess behind" and that they were being extremely thorough in finding a replacement. I considered it a tacky comment for an applicant to hear during an interview. Of course I'm only hearing one side of the story, too. In cases such as this, is it acceptable to ask the employer for references once an applicant has entered the negotiating phase? I've never heard of this but would hate to accept a position where the employer is the one making the mess, not the former employee(s). Your thoughts? Would you do this or have you done this?

Your boss wants to send a brief email message welcoming employees recently transferred to your department from your Hong Kong branch. They all speak English, but your boss asks you to review his message for clarity. What would you suggest your boss change in the following email message, and why? Would you consider this message to be audience centered? Why or why not? Revise the email so that it follows effective communication guidelines.

"I wanted to welcome you ASAP to our little family here in the States. It's high time we shook hands in person and not just across the sea. I'm pleased as punch about getting to know you all, and I for one will do my level best to sell you on America."

After researching cultural differences between the United States and Hong Kong, what advice would you give your boss?
