I am a college grad. have been out of school for 10 yrs trying to get into HR w/o any luck. I have had 3 HR interviews in the last 4 months & am at the point of wanting to give up. I have not had a permanent job in almost 3 years. I am currently working a temp. job. The company is probably going to offer me a permanent job as either a Secretary or an Admin. At 33 years of age I kind of feel like I should be doing better than that. The job is paying 35K. What do you guys think should I take the job?

Take it, control it, and be ambitious and persistant everyday. You cna take what is already an unorganized company and do good things!

If I were you I would take the job. Any permanent job is better than nothing at all. If you take the job, there are possibilities of advancement, raises, and other incentives. As a permanent employee, you will also be eligible for company insurance, if they offer it. I've worked as a temp, and it's very frustrating to only work when they need you, which may be often or once in a blue moon. Taking a permanent job doesn't mean that you can't still look for other employment with the responsibilities, and incentives you think you should have at 33 years old. Good luck.

35k isn't that bad, if you take this job- at least you will know that you have some stability in your life; in the meanwhile, dont you dare to give up!- I think its always like this, you work hard but with almost no lack at all..and you start to want to give up..thats the crisis, i think once its over and once you will give a couple more tries- you will be rewarded for all the loosing.

Like they say, a bird in the hand....
While on that job, it doesn't prevent you from searching elsewhere. And having gone to 3 interviews with nothing to show for it, what are your resume and interview skills like? Might want to check on them before you apply somewhere else.

it will pay the bills in the meantime, is also easier to find another job when already employed. plus, once you in the door, maybe you could move up in that company, be it hr or something else.
