I know it in a very general & vague sense...but am still not sure & I hope that I won't change my mind tomorrow. It seems too overwhelming when I think about it.

You didn't say how old you were. My kids (4) had the same problem. Here's what we did.
1. Make a list of the things you like to do - write it down.
2. Look over the list and prioritize it with the thing you like most on top.
3. Look at all the jobs in the world that would pay you to do the things you like. Also consider the armed forces.
4. Set your goal for the job you picked.
Be aware that many people like their jobs, but very few are doing what they like. If you can do both, you will do well. If you don't like anything, you need to seek professional help, you are probably depressed.

Start with what you truly enjoy doing. Maybe a hobby could be turned into a business idea. Also uncover some basic questions like "Do I like to work alone or with people?". Maybe volunteering here and there could help shed light on that one. I did 6 years of university before I realized what I did and didn't like doing. I'm still not all that sure I'll pick the right path. So you are not alone. Also, people have an average of six different careers in their lifetime. Good luck!

Not alone at all, I was a beauty therapist for a few years, that was what I wanted to be but after breaking my arm I had to give that up. Then I fell into reception work but have never been happy with that really. I'm doing office courses so I can get away from customer facing roles, I doubt I will ever find anything that I really want to do, but to be fair, work is not my life, it just pays the bills

You are not alone. I am making a six figure salary, owning a house and married to a beautiful wife. But sometimes I feel the same as you. You need to focus on doing what you absolutely love and if you want monetary return for what you love to do, there is always someone out there willing to pay for your service. Hope you find your direction soon.

Depending on your age... I'm sure there are plenty of people out there struggling with the same thing. Heck, that's why YA is always so busy.

I would suggest listing out the things you love to do, then brainstorming careers that incorporate them. Even if it's silly things like talking, clubbing, writing poetry, whatever. You can find something for every lifestyle.
