My mom is about 40 and she has a bit over 7 years experience working as a sort of sales consultant for a company .However , a few years ago she had to quit for some reason (not because she was bad at it ,don't really remember why ) and now she has a crappy job somewhere else .There are a lot of job offers in our town for experienced people like her with really good salaries but she says it's not worth it because they are just looking for really young un-married people .Is that true ?Is there no way she can get a good job at her age and marital status ? Thanks!

My employer uses A point system to establish first off weather to even bother calling you in for an interview. If you do not meet a minimum score you get a standard rejection letter claiming you didnt meet there requirements. I have found out one of the score's is bassed on sick level. I am sure but not posative I heard some were it was against employmet law to refuse a job or promotion on any sick time you may have had. I have been in my current job for 3 years and had only 2 months off sick which was Dec-Jan 2007. This is not for a promotion but just another job on the same level. Can anyone help :-)

I am 42 and at the very top of the pay scale for my industry (PHP programming). I'd like to get more money, but a raise or a new position in the same industry seems unlikely. I'm not much of a self-starter so starting my own business would not be viable.

So cross-train in my current career? Or switch careers?

My parents are struggling to make ends meet. They would sell the house and get something smaller, but becasue they owe the IRS so much money, they would not see anything for it. What kind of work (other than MLM online biz) can you suggest? Thank you for your help.

I am in graduate business school and have held business jobs in the past. For a few years, however, I've also worked at a hospital. I enjoy patient care; I get along well with my colleagues, too. Medical school interests me. That said, many doctors seem resentful about insurance, litigation, lack of autonomy, and declining pay; it scares me off. Not sure what to decide.

I used to be idealistic about business careers, and I don't want to repeat that mistake; business is a practical choice and medicine is tough. I'm already in my early thirties. But for better or worse, the thought of med school "haunts" me. I love patient care, and the hospital environment works for me, but is medical school worth it anymore in terms of career satisfaction and job and financial security? My gut tells me to go for it; then my head interferes and I don't know what to do (e.g. residency at age 38? could I stand not having money for the next 10 yrs?)

Can anyone help? What am I missing? Besides guts :)

I am currently a GSM of a large auto dealership. My hours are not bad for this type of work but I am getting bored with it. My wife and I are wanting some more adventure in our lives but we can not afford to give up a steady income. My question it this, from someone who is in the timeshare industry can you tell me what it is like? The general commision scale, hours invovled job satisfaction from yourself and others best companies to work for ect? And any other information would be great! Websites I can get more from you name, we are taking our time and approaching this with care. I am not worried about the ability to sale so taking that out of the equation give me the low down! :)

I'm planning on switching to a new job but I currently have about 2 weeks of vacation time built up. According to my employee hand book, the company is not going to pay me those hours unless required by law. My question is; Is Florida one of those states where employers have to pay employees their vacation pay no matter what?

My most recent change is, I decided to leave detroit one day and move to grand rapids and live (also i have no family here), and now i've been here 6 months, I work in a hospital, but now I'm ready to leave and go back to my old job in detroit.
