Yeah figures are distorted - I think £18-20,000 before taxes is about right. But don't forget to take into account regional differences. Other more statistical methods will probably give a slightly higher figure -but this will depend how much weighting they give to the upper quartile silly money earners

A lot lower than the government statistics given out. These are pushed up by the 'fat cat' salaries and bonuses given to workers who are outwith the normal salary rates. The basic rate, which was supposed to be introduced to help the underpaid, only gave employers the chance to give lower wages to workers. There is no 'real' average British salary.

A lot more than I get. I'm on 5.65 an hour. I worked about 232 hours last month plus got paid for a week's holiday and came out with just over a grand. I think at my rate of working (I'm doing 62 hours this week), I might make 13 grand a year. I can tell you better when I get my P60 next month.

Well... every career has it's own "average salary"...

Actually, the UK's average salary is about £16.300...

iceburg lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes (cherry or otherwise), maybe a little red pepper, carrot, and the old favourite a radish sat in the middle, me ma used to call 'em vitamin balls ya know....

More than any other country anyway.
I earn about £65,000
but some jobs are only paid about £10,000 /$17,000

Which is poor in my opinion
