I don't mean scams or get-rich-quick schemes. I mean "telecommuting" jobs. I need to be able to work from home or anywhere (am going out of the country next year and want to establish myself in an online job before then). I only need to make about $400 - $500 a month. I can type SUPER fast and I have a lot of internet/technical knowledge...I can take some classes between now and then for what I don't know. I don't even know what the names of telecommuting jobs are (except for medical transcriptionist) unless the name is just "telecommuting jobs". Where do I look for such a job? Thanks!!! :)

Also what does a "receptionist" , for example at a law firm,do exactly?
And what does a "child care worker" do?

How much do all these get paid around?

If you work in a restaurant as a cook making $12.50 an hour and your employer pulls you from your postion as a cook (in the middle of your shift) to serve patrons, is it legal for them to decrease your pay rate to minumim wage? Please note that you have never worked as a server, in the several years of your employment you have always worked as a cook.

Hi,
I would like everyone's opinion on something. I am looking to move out to Los Angeles or New York City, however, I do NOT want to get locked into another 9-5 position. I plan on pursuing a career in writing, and doing some investment real estate to subsidize my income.

I have a Bachelor's degree and I have around 1 1/2 - 2 years of experience in Human Resources.

So here's the question: Do you all think that the staffing agencies would have enough consistent work for me to be able to take care of myself until my writing career pays off. I do like to travel alot so I would be looking for assignments lasting from 1 day to no more than probably 2 months.

Please advise. Thanks!

I am trying to find other countries apart from the UK that offers respite care for people who look after a member of the family and needs vacations. And also if there are any governments that pay a weekly wage for those family members that can't work and have to stay at home with the person they are caring for.

I just started at Direct Buy, and I'm wondering if a person can make upwards of $30k to $40 here or if that's a pipe dream. I have a number of years experience in a few areas they market to they're members, and they started me at the highest available wage they could. But I'm trying to find out if I'm better off taking my expertise to someone that would give me a better salary right away.

Almost a year ago now, I did my work experience, which involved doing a scientific experiment. I was told that I may have to be involved in a video or photographs documenting what I did. I consented to this at the time, little realising that it would take this long for my employer to reply and arrange a date for the photo shoot.
I really do not want to do this any more, and feel almost required to, as I gave my consent for it. How do I write a letter apologising that I cannot meet for the shoot without being nasty or showing that I really can't be bothered, rather than me actually having too much to do?
I fear that my (former, by the way) employer will keep moving the date to almost persuade me to go, and therefore need a great excuse. I'm going to France for five weeks in July/August, anyway, so I've got that bit covered, but thank you tremendously in advance.

I just interview for an receptionist position at a bank. 1 year ago I was stupid and made a mistake for theft. ON my application I didn' t check any of the questions of crimes committed. I was confused if they're asking for felony or any misdemeanors. But my conviction is going to be chrged off this july 07. So what do you guys think is going to happen to me. Me and my interviewer was great. I know you guys aren't Human Resource but have you come across a position like this? I passed for my current receptionist position but this is a bank. Man i hate this...ergh.. I want this job so bad i can taste it but if i dont get it i understand. so what are my chances what should i do? she didnt even ask about my background at all. great....
