I just started at Direct Buy, and I'm wondering if a person can make upwards of $30k to $40 here or if that's a pipe dream. I have a number of years experience in a few areas they market to they're members, and they started me at the highest available wage they could. But I'm trying to find out if I'm better off taking my expertise to someone that would give me a better salary right away.

I think with enough time and the right opportunities to move into management that you could eventually make $30 to $40k at DirectBuy. If you enjoy what you're doing, and you can live on what you're making, stick with it. No mater how much you make, you might be the type who always wants more.

However, if you're not really crazy about your current job, and you need to make more money, you might be better off moving from retail to wholesale. It's a very different monster, but if you have good marketing skills... and a strong desire to succeed, you could literally be making 50 to 100k within a few years.

Nonetheless, focus on enjoying what you do rather than just chasing after the big bucks. Make as much much money as you need to live. Don't live to work... work to live. I believe it was Mark Twain who once said, "Find a job you really enjoy doing, and you'll never WORK a day in your life."
