How about contacting some of your teachers, neighbors, relatives, and friends' parents and letting them know that you are interested in summer work...There is housecleaning, babysitting, dog walking/bathing, window cleaning, yard work, cleaning/organizing garages & offices, and umpiring-scorekeeping at your local baseball-softball leagues (for kids). There is quite a few things if you just talk to people and see what the need is. Good Luck!

most jobs hire only 16 year olds. im 15 and have founf that it easier to get a job at privately owned businesses. i work at a gelataria and a coffeehouse that is somewhat like starbucks. its really fun and the bosses usually let you hang out with friends. some malls hire at 15 so you could always apply at your favorite store. hope this helps!

You can also work in a restaurant or a store near where you live. There's lots of websites out there where you can look for jobs. Just look around for it. Sometimes you can't get the job you want, but it's better than not having one at all.

Work at an ice cream shop. They are always looking for summer help and if you apply now, you'll have your foot in the door when the time comes! Sounds fun, huh?

Well, at YMCA camps (which i'm sure you have around), they do this thing called CIT (counselor in training). It's not a job, but you have responsibilities like a counselor, and it's free.
Or you could get a job at an ice cream place like me.

Not sure if they do it in your area, but have him get a paper route, that will make him some money.
