I am 17 1/2 years old- old enough for most jobs open to high-school students. I am also very smart and capable. I can do manual work.
Problem? I'm deaf.

While my speech and comprehension is generally good enough to get by most of the time, I don't want to work at somewhere like a cashier job at Taco Bell or a Walmart's helper, where I'm required to talk to several different people all day long.

I'd REALLY like to find a part-time job but I have no idea where to look- it seems that the only places that have job openings for high-school students are restaurants or stores- and in there, I'll likely be placed as a waitress or a clerk/cashier... jobs that I don't think I would do very well at.

If anyone could come up with other ideas of employment that are better suited for deaf high-schoolers, I would appreciate it very much.

I have been meaning to find another job in the last year, but too lazy to start new again, been in this job for 3 yrs now, I like it, not love it, my pay could be better with my long experience in this field, no benefits, only health. Should I be serious in looking for a new job this year and really go through with it.? My past job, had great pay, great staff and working environment, and benefits the whole nine...(this was in another state, before I moved back to Calif. )This job bores me a lot also...My boss is a cheap skate, should I try to ask for a raise which I know she wont give..or just move on....

I will be graduating from High School this May, and will only be 17. I will need to immediately find a full time job, because I will be completely on my own. I already have a car, and I have a place to stay, but I will still need money to support myself. What kind of full time job should I be looking for at only 17?

(I will be going to night school)

My mom has worked in the garment/textile business for 20 years and finally decided to leave the industry in pursuit of an easier less labored job. She is looking for a postion that allows for salary increases every once and awhile and flexible hours.

The problem is that she speaks no English and has no college education. She wants to stay active working and contributing to a company's cause but does not know where to start. My mom plans to start learning English during the weekends so she will have a basic understanding of English.

Are there any jobs that require no or little English communication as a requirement and no specific skilled labor ??? Any help will be appreciated... Thanks
