The federal minimum wage is $5.15, but certain states have set their own minimum wage. Click on the link below, it's a map with state by state wages, just click on your state. On a side note the democrats have just taken control of the house and the senate and one of their key points is to raise the minimum wage. I believe they declared they would do it within the first 100 hours that they were in session, but don't quote me on that.

The minimum wage for working anywhere, I think, is 5.75. I could be wrong, I'm thankful that I no longer have to have firsthand knowledge of minimum wage requirements.

The exception to that is when you wait tables, and the minimum wage is around 2.75, with the expectation that tips make up the rest.

Federal law for January of 2007 is $7.50 per hour unless you receive tips - then it can be less legally but usually isnt...

It does not matter what state you live in...Federal Laws override State laws anyway...unless the wage would be more than the feds dictate...

Minimum wage hasnt been 5.75 for many years...
