My conundrum: I have 2 careers: I teach at a college, and I'm a technical writer in insurance.

My teaching job is emotionally satisfying. The hours rule. I walk away feeling happy. But a full-time teaching job is nearly impossible to get where I live (and I'm not willing to move). Even if I teach 8 classes a term, I'm still considered part-time. There are no benefits. I'm not guaranteed work every semester. The pay sucks, and I don't have an office (I can't work at home).

My technical writer job has a great salary, steady hours, and decent benefits. I have my own cube. And there is room for advancement. But I don't like working in insurance, and I walk away feeling drained. I dread going there.

I left teaching because, in order to pay my bills, I had to teach a ridiculous amount of classes. I got burnt out in just 3 years.

I want to go back to teaching, but I'm afraid of burning out again. I hate my insurance job, but it's a steady paycheck with benefits.

What would you do?

I lost my holiday paid because my new card did't work. In order to get paid holiday paid you have to be on time to work day before and the day after on time not a minutes late. We got new cards the week before the holiday so the day after the holiday I got a flat and I call the company to let them know I might be late, fix the flat got to work on time at 6:00am, new card did't work when I swipe at 6 so I try again the clock roll over 6:01 and it made me late, I told my supervior and I did't get paid for thanksgiving and the day after, we get two day off. they say I went threw the gate at 6:02 that not right that time off because how is that if I clock in at 6:01 they say I could'nt have made it so me and the union fighting the matter, we had one meeting and they still said no so the union going to third step to try again to get my money. Don't think it fair because their new card did't work. If the next step don't work ,that it don't know what else to do?

I just started working at this daycare on the military base my husband was stationed to. I am in training for the week. I am somewhat a shy and quiet person. What pointers can you give me as to how I can interact with the children and talk to them. The age group I am working with this week is 3-5. I am doing alot better. But I just dont know how I would go about talking to the kids with out sounding stupid or without confusing them? Please help me. What are some other pointers you can give to me that would or will help me out?

The reason why I chose to work in a daycare is because I love kids and plan to have kids someday. Even though I am quiet, and not very out spoken, I feel comfortable working with children. And the pay is outstanding.

Can someone please give me some pointers and advice? I very much appreciate it.

I know it seems now that everything is being done through email, but which is better and preferred? Email or regular mail? And if I was planning to send it through email, should I send the cover letter as the email itself and just attach my resume?

I turn 18 in 19 days, so that opens up more opportunities. However, I still have no idea where I should apply for a job. I don't really want to work with food though. Any (appropriate) suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I am looking for a clerical job in the chicago suburb area, but using career buider and monster.com is really frustrating me. There seem to be so many jobs, but almost every single one turns out to require staffing co. interviews. They're really tricky about it, b/c unless you know names of staffing co.'s, you don't realize you are getting a general interview with them and not the direct employer. They make sure not to tell you what they are until you show up for an interview either. Anyway, is there a way to block them out when job searching? Is there another place to look for jobs that has not been taken over by them?

I want to find an IT job that pays a livable wage 40k a year or so that doesnt demand your life revolve around it. I want to do my job well but when the day is done go home and forget it. No on call.

Does such a job exist. I used to have one but now that morons depend on technology they seem to drink the blood of IT people and Im getting sick to death of it.

Im either underqualified for network admin jobs or cant take the pay cut because support jobs dont pay with a damn
