All jobs in the police start at the bottom, i know as i applied and got a job aiming towards a Traffic police but decided against joining whilst awaiting my placement.

As far as qualifications go everyone is treated equally so qualification ans previous experience is not considered.

The application consists of completing a application form, then you will attend a test day where you sit exams multiple choice not to bad. After this you will have a medical and have do go through routine role plays to see how you handle different situations, and undergo group discussions.

If you complete these OK you would be invited back to complete a physical test running and strength test basically. you find out that day how you did then you just await your final interview.

Good Luck try visiting the link below for additional advise.

It depends which Police force within the UK you want to join. They all have their own websites. These have details of the application procedure and is worth a look so you know what to expect. I've applied before and you can get them to send you an application form through the post via their website.
You don't really need any qualifications to apply, the best thing to have is life experience. This is because during the assessment part of the application you are asked to give examples of certain situations you've had to deal with.
You will have to be a normal PC for two years before you can move into other areas within the force. This is an initial trial period where you learn all aspects of the job.
Good Luck!
