my work just recently promoted one of my fellow employees. three of us were up for it, and we both completely disagree with the decision made. if you were gunna promote someone, who would you promote, a, b or c?

a. female, 20, been here for 6 months (since opening), closest to employer, average sales, works on the weekends as well, late weekly, doesn't associate with other employees, very to-herself

b. female, 19, been here for 4 months, always on time, makes consistant high sales, associates with all workers, very chummy with all workers, answers new employee questions

c. female, 22, been here for 5 monthss, opens up on time daily, makes consistant good sales, friendly with all workers but 1, very familiar with business and answers a lot of questions

they promoted one of these people, i am one of these people.. who do you think they should have promoted?

and why??

I am a woman, and I hate pant-suits...Could I wear a short houndstooth jumper with a suit jacket over it and black tights? Are the ONLY options for "business formal" a pant-suit or skirted suit? I do not even have a skirted suit :o( and the event is tomorrow.

My boss has started docking our wages if we are late in the morning but not in a fair way- if we are more than 5 minutes late he docks us for a whole hour! We think not only is this unfair but unlawful? What are our rights? I live and work in England so UK laws would apply.

I have been at this job for almost a year, I work at an office with 2 other women. One is my boss, one is a co-worker. (they are of course friends) I am the newbie, and can do nothing right. No matter how hard I try, or how much extra I take care of I am always the scape goat for mistakes. Not that I don't ever make mistakes but my mistakes are treated differently. I am in the bathroom at least once a week in tears. I'm not sure how much more I can take. It is affecting my life outside the office, I'm so drained when I get home I just want to collapse. And I really have no one to talk to because its just the 3 of us here. Outside this office, I know very few people in the company.

I love my boss, but I have come to a stand-still in the company he runs. Since there are limited growth oppurtunities I have been casually looking around for what else is out there and have come across a very promising position. I now feel horrible because I've been smiling and happy to my boss's face. He feels secure in the knowledge that he has someone to fill this important role in the company, but if I do leave there is no one to step up and take over. It's a small company and I hold the bookkeeping/Office manager position so if I leave it will negatively affect the overall company. If I stay I will continue to feel unsatisfied. How should I handle this situation if I get the job? Any advice to overcome the feelings of guilt? Am I being backhanded? Help!

I used to work full-time (40hrs/week) two years ago. Then this past year I worked between 20-30 hours a week in order to study for an exam. I started working 40 hours again in December but just found out that our department is being laid off.

Also, I am still considered a "temp" status, as I am technically hired and paid through a temping agency.

That had to deal with Safety and Security Measures, what things would you tell your boss as to the reasons why it is vital or important for you to take that short business course (usually a day long seminar)

The course itself is designed for Secretaries, Admin Assit., and Human Resource professionals...
