I have a co-worker who claims to have been an Eagle Scout; however, he seems to be quite clueless about basic scouting information. Is there any type of validation process where I could, in fact, confirm that he IS an Eagle Scout (directly with BSA)?

There's this chick who is the same age as I am, who had an issue with me since I first got there. The diff. I'm in college and she has 4 kids and smokes weed all day. I still respect her cuz she is a manager. I called in to work saying I could come today cuz my aunt needs to be taken to the hospital. She told me If i can't come in, I'm fired. I called to speak to the head manager and he arranged a meeting for us. I don't think it's fair that i was fired cuz I have no previous write-up or complaints, she was just waintgin fro a chance to get rid of me.At the meeting should I mention the fact that she sleeps on the job, steals food etc.

So I've been having troubles confronting my boss about my two weeks notice. The time is coming close and don't want to wait until it's shorter than 2 weeks. Everyday that I have set myself to talk to her, she's left the office early or there's 6 other people in the office, so I can never get her alone to tell her. I have typed up a resignation letter with all of my explainations about why i'm leaving. I was not planning to tell her anything when I gave her the letter other than " I figured it would be best for me to present this to you in person".

I was wondering if it is improper to just put the letter in an envelope and lay it on her desk, so that when she has the chance, she will be able to look over it on her own time, or should I really wait to tell her that " I figured it would be best for me to present this to you in person"? This will be my first time giving my notice, which I'm happy about because I'm ready to work at my new job.

My test ran late and I absolutely could not leave so missed my interview. Yes, I know it's an awful start, etc. How can I try to make-up fo that mistake and prove that I am the best choice for the position w/o seeming too apologetic or desperate? Also, it's common to do phone interviews first for internships so please don't say "oh they don't want you, etc.". I really appreciate your help! Thanks!

I accepted an offer on a job last week (let's call it Company A) but my dream job came up a few days later (Company B). I have signed an offer letter to confirm my start date with Company A as 20th Dec but have not signed the contract as yet. I plan to call the Company A tomorrow and tell them that I want to accept the other job with Company B (better salary/hours/prospects) but need to know where I stand. Does anyone happen to know whether an acceptance of an offer is still binding even though the contract has yet to be signed and my start date is still a week away? Thanks x

When is the right time to move out?
I'm living with my parents. I'm the last of my siblings in the house, i have the run of the place. in order to move out i'll need a part time job for financial stability. the parents don't want me to go. my friends say the part time job would be a bad deal. my full time employer doesn't think i should need a part time job. but if i'm not moving towards independence and goals, what am i working towards?
My other options: don’t take the security job. Don’t ask the girl out. Stay at my parents house; keep them happy. Work the full time job, work the uscg reserves. Put some energy towards a masters. Wait on some raises. Wait on a gal. Wait on moving out. Patience is the route that I’ll be looking at. Patience sucks.

The reason I ask this question, I am in the process of looking for a job. My last job put me on administrative leave for thirty days, which went to the end of Sept. Then I was no longer employed. I was not warned of any problems before I had my meeting on the day they decided to "let me go". I worked there from Jan.'06-Aug.'06, and in between that time I got a good review. So that's why it came as a surprise! What do you do when asked if you have been fired from a previous job???????? This was the first time for me in 13 years of employment. HELP!!!!

A friend of mine is trying to pull me into this Prime America thing.. I have also noticed a lot of people fall for this and other scams trying to make it rich and wind up losing big time. When are people gonna realize the only thing real is a job making a real paycheck. Do you think people will ever give up the pipe dreams?

Typically this would be an easy calcuation but due to peak seasonal periods( during the months from May til Sept ) I'm paid tons of overtime (130 +hour on average per check)

I want to propose the best/ most reasonable salaried amount that compensates me for the overtime I will lose during out peak periods.
