How about, "FREE GAS" with purchase of new vehicle at a discounted price. Then you fill the tank before they take delivery.

Find a local lead group like a chamber of commerce or, BNI group. These groups will have gatherings once a week and they will pass leads to each other. This is a great way to earn credibility as well, don't forget you are selling cars. I also would take down 5 references everytime the customer filled out a credit app. These folks will be thier friends and family. Call these references and Start by saying to them " Have you seen (customers name) new car, if you happen to have any questions about how you can get a car like theirs call me." Then send them a post card or a letter. There is nothing like a customer who is trying to keep up with the Jones'.

Car sales is one of the most emotional jobs you can ever do. Your customers develope a relationship with their cars. You always need to maintain a stable emotional level while dealing with these customers. They can sense when you're having a bad day or a good day, so if you just lost a deal or just nailed one always try to keep the same steady pace. Sales will come. Keep in mind that 20% of all sales people will do 80% of the business. That means you want to be a 20%. Oh! One more thing get a down payment. I found that asking for the money is easier if you ask for less at first. My rule has always been make more $$ and sell less cars. Quit chasing around moneyless deals that are a waste of time. Your boss didn't hire you so he could pay you less than the detailer. He wants to pay you more than you've ever earned in your life. I made more than my cousin who is doctor in my first year than she made in her first three years of being a doctor. Good Luck and Have Fun!
