There's this chick who is the same age as I am, who had an issue with me since I first got there. The diff. I'm in college and she has 4 kids and smokes weed all day. I still respect her cuz she is a manager. I called in to work saying I could come today cuz my aunt needs to be taken to the hospital. She told me If i can't come in, I'm fired. I called to speak to the head manager and he arranged a meeting for us. I don't think it's fair that i was fired cuz I have no previous write-up or complaints, she was just waintgin fro a chance to get rid of me.At the meeting should I mention the fact that she sleeps on the job, steals food etc.

Ok, so won't mention her dirt, but is it fair that I was fired. I called in hourd before I was scheduled to work, to give her enough time to find a replacement.

Wow! I hope your college papers are written much better than your story above!

No, it's not fair - Welcome to corporate America!

And as far as you respecting a potheaded, childbearing woman who just happens to your boss, you are being RESPECTFUL towards her position, NOT her as a person!

I was recently fired as well. Here's a little about my situation, I was on medical leave for a knee surgery that I had, when I came back they fired me.

This is what I did to make my situation a little justified and what you need to do as well. Search the Internet for your local Workforce Commission ( Mine is the Texas Workforce Commission). Once you get the contact information, you need to call them and ask to speak with someone who handles complaints. Tell them everything and ask them what you should do. You may even have to go there in person to explain everything (that would be best.) Then, after they listen to what you have to tell them, ask them for the number to the EEOC (the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.) Those people are who you really need to talk too. They will explain everything you need to know. ( Explain to the EEOC- your manager was creating a hostel work environment.)

As for your meeting, tell the head manager the truth. Point out all your good work ethics and see what they say. If worse comes to worse then you can mention the facts that the other manager has been stealing. But don't mention it unless you have too. Point out that, the establishment is suppose to be an Equal Opportunity establishment and you feel that those laws haven't been upheld.

you could mention it but you dont have documentation...just stick to the fact that you didnt have any previous write ups or complaints and that you have the right to take your aunt to the hospital. you shouldnt mention the bad parts about her because shes your manager and she happens to have a higher authority than you, so you would probably lose on that case. only way to win is to say it was an emergency and there was no way you couldve gotten yourself out of taking your aunt to the hospital. good luck! and besides, if you lose your job, there a millions of other places looking for jobs...why deal with a horrible manager!?

Seriously consider simply leaving. The fast food industry is bad for your body, mind and soul.

In lieu of that, simply state your case - calmly and with no rancour. Be the best you.

Good luck!

I would pull out all the stops! go ahead , she did you wrong and now is your chance to redeem yourself. Besides, if you still don't get your job back , she will be put on notice.
