I have a BBA degree and thinking to go to nursing school. I know nurses have better job prospects but don't know how the job market is for MBAs and want to decide between Nursing and MBA (whichever pays more down the road).

I will have my MBA in 5 months. I have been researching and finding that jobs in the market that I want to work in want you to have a specialization in communications..Like producer for radio or tv, communications for magazine editor, or image editor. Do I need to go back to get an undergrade to get the specializions? Do anyone know of any certification I can get without truly going back to get another BS? Do anyone know of a company that will hire a recent MBA graduate into the communications field where I can learn as I work. Unfortunately, I'm finding that most companies want someone with experience. I'm so-called overqualified for entry-level and not experienced enough for upper level. In my region I have applied for jobs as secretary, receptionist, accounts payable and administrative support positions just to get my feet in the door at advertising companies, radio / TV broadcastings, and newspaper distributions. All suggestions are welcome.

I was looking in Hotjobs.com some of the PA descriptions said you need experience. What experience would qualify?

The amount of ridiculous drama that occurs in an office just astounds me, but experience has taught me that this crap occurs in most offices. What amazes me are the people who've worked in this atmosphere for years and it doesn't get to them. If you're one of these people, how do you separate yourself? Especially if occassionally some of the sh*& hitting the fan lands on you.

If I have an associates degree in applied science healthcare-Billing and coding specialist that I got while attending herzing college online. Will it be harder to get a job? The technical school gave the technical diplomas for medical coding but not billing, no internship, and was also an online class. I wanted the knowledge of the billing and the internship. I did get a internship from herzing college online, but when I get my degree will I be able to get a job having an online degree.

i was terminated after 3yrs of employment after a worker's comp claim was denied. i was advised by my employer to file due to lost work. i was under the care of a doctor and was not yet released to return to work. when my claim was denied i received a call from management stating that i was terminated b/c the claim was denied. my doctor had excused all absences and was willing to provide any further documentation. Management told me that a doctor's note does not excuse absences. i was thinking about contacting a lawyer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I recently changed jobs within the same company to a different department. I was in my previous job for 4 years and enjoyed it mostly. I have been in current one for the past 3 months and I just can't seem to settle down, I like the people they are nice and I do the work but I have had a few sick days and I can get miserable sat at my desk thinking of previous job.

Is this normal? Should I give it a bit more time to see if I settle?

I have been employed with a hospital in full time status for over 90 days but not 90 days worked (about 70 actual working days). I work nights and worked the eve of thanksgiving at 11pm when their rules start to recieve holiday pay. I just got my check today and was paid only regular time for the holiday because I was full time. I called accounting today who said the problem was that I was clocking in under eduction and technically since I was under orientation status I will not be paid time and a half for the holiday. This employer is behind and we have to clock in by telephone, is it my fault b/c they gave me the wrong code to clock in under all of this time? Should I contact my labor board with this issue. What is the website or number for my area in Illinois?
