Actually it is legitimate. I knew a woman who worked for Nordstom who received a bonus, because she gave great service to a mystery shopper - this was eons ago though.

If the gig is asking you to pay them a fee, then it's not legit. I've heard of those too. Stay away! You shouldn't have to pay for a job.

It's only legit if you are working for a large company that is paying you to mystery shop and report into management.

If you are ever asked to pay for merchandise yourself, or pay them a fee to become a mystery shopper, then yes, it is a scam!

There are a lot of "Mystery Shopper" scams running right now with the Holidays approaching - Don't fall for them!

Yes, it's legit. If you get with a legit company. I did it for a while, but it wasn't worth the time and effort when everything was said and done. I get $10 to buy something from a specific place and then answer a huge questionaire. It just took to much time and wasn't that great of pay either.

If you decide to go for it anyway, don't pay anything to do it. If they ask for money, then you know they are not a legitament company.

not really. I tried it, but never got paid for any phone calls I did. After many emails to them, they finally emailed me back and said I was doing the return survey to them wrong. It was in response to me so they didn't have to pay me anything. You have to call these companies and ask them the questions that they want you to ask and stay on the phone for a required amount of time and then send them the required questions and answers. Was a big rip-off.

It is legit, I have been doing it for years.

The legitimate companies do not EVER ask you to pay for anything. They pay you, not the other way around. If there is any sort of fee to get started it is a scam.

No. Not legit. Think about it, if it was legit people would be falling all over themselves to do it because it's so easy, the companies wouldn't have to advertise so heavily online if it was legit. Sorry.
