im applying for visa and the consular says im trying to solicite

The think the word is solicit with no "e". Are you applying for the visa for someone else as their legal agent? It might also mean that you think you are going to be the victim of a crime such as rape, incest, domestic violence, torture, etc. in order to qualify for a U Visa Interim Relief.
