citing a "violation" of the company internet policy. the michigan unemployment insurance agency has denied my unemployment AND appeal. i am not to request a hearing in front of a judge. anyone been through this? how did it go and what do you think my chances are?

They call that "terminated for cause". That means you broke the rules and got fired. You are not entitled to unemployment when you get fired like that. It is insurance for people who loose their jobs through no fault of their own (i.e. layoffs, closures, etc.). Go find a new job and actually follow the rules...it's how most people do it!!!

you will have to prove that you did not do it.
against what they have, which is probably actual evidence.
i think your chances are slim.
they can fire you anytime they want, really.
unless it is for illegal reasons like discrimination.
so even if you didn't violate the policy they can still fire you.
