I work for a government helpline and every day my call times are through the roof. I never meet the call time targets for the centre and I am worreid about losing my job. Unfortunitly Due to the business I am in I am required to take details from customers, And EVERY TIME I get on the phone these people NEVER have their details, Hardley speak english, expect me to work out their income (especially if they dont know what they are earning) and just wont get off the phone cause they fancy a Fu@king chat.

Sorry to rant, but the quetion I want to ask is does anyone have any tips or techniques for redusing call timesand just generally getting people off the phone. Please dont confuse this with not providing quality service, because I always do my best for people (I really do!!!) but I need a way to make people give me the information required and hang up the phone faster or its likley I'll get the sack! Does anyone have any tips or techniques, pharases, anything please!

Thanks

I started a new job about 2 months ago. I'm 23 and in quite a senior managerial position in the NHS. I've been in the NHS for a good few years now but am starting to realise I really don't enjoy it an don't like the way my career is heading.

I'm well qualified with 2 degrees and the money is really good.

My problem is that I hate the stress, I'm physically exhausted, the thought of going to work tomorrow makes me feel physically sick.

I feel like if I leave I will be giving up and letting myself and everyone else down. I haven't got to where I am at my age by giving up or shying away from work, but I am at the stage where I have just had enough. It is making me so unhappy.

Should I stay or should I go? My partner earns enough to support us both and thinks I should resign but I'm also worried about how it will look on my resume.

Advice???

This person has a painful hip joint but can function pretty "normally", but if they walk/stand/or sit for too long at one time, they can be in a lot of pain. An ideal career would have a good balance of physical activity but not be physically demanding at all. Something that is intellectually challenging. This person is smart. This person is deciding what to major in in college for a future career that meets their intellectual needs and physical limitations. Thanks.

My first thought is it would force many small businesses out of business, even though there are many huge companies(especially in Illinois),that pay pocket change,in my opinion.

I am not rich. I am 17 years old. A senior in High School and I am a little late to decide to apply to a college. My High school GPA is about 2.8 and my SAT Reasoning Test scores are about 500 each, my math section was the lowest one with the score of 480.
I want to apply to Cornell University (School of Hotel Administration) this is my first choice. My second choice is Cornell University The Johnson School

Also, can I go to a 4-year Hotel management school and then maybe get my doctoral in a prestigious Business School such as Stern University of New York? Is the Hope For Me??

I don't know if I should even apply to a great school like Stern University or any other prestigious business school. I mean my grades are decent. I have not participated in any extra curricular activities in high school accept in yearbook.
Please help. Thanks

I am a senior in high school. It's december and I have NOT applied to any college or university yet. I don't where or how to begin. I do not know what school would be the best one and the applications are so confusing..Iam practically lost. My guidance counselor does not help me at all..my family doesn't speak English so no help from there either. I am ALL by myself trying to find a school. I know I am late in my attempt to find a college but I really would like to get in a good college. My High school GPA is about 2.8 and my SAT Reasoning Test scores are about 500 each, my math section was the lowest one with the score of 480.

I'm currently an Air Traffic Controller in the Air Force. ATC make good money in the civilain sector, but mortgage brokers do too. ATC is good, but my earnings are limited by my salary. Mortgage brokers pretty much have the potential for high earnings depending on what they put in to it. Do you think someone like me, 24 years old with 8 classes left to finish my Bachelor's in Aeronautics, pursue a mortgage broker career. It seems challenging, and I really like the fact that it's a sales job which means I can transfer those skills into any industry. Another thing, I wanna own some businesses and real estate properties some day. My ATC salary will limit my potential to earn more capital to invest in these business ventures/ideas some day. What do ya think?

I don't know how to handle this one. He lost his job and was drawing unemployment. They fired him for some bad quailty that the supervisor had changed the ticket he put on it that it was bad. They sent it that way to make a profit. Of course the company sent it back saying it was marked first quialty when in fact it was second quailty. They never wrote him up in the 5 years he was there. Now he's having to fight for 9 week penitly peroid. We have a car payment to make and insurance. He's really upset and depressed about it. I'm a caregiver for my mom so I can't go get a job. Help we're going to loose the car. Our credit is bad no way of getting a loan. We live with mom rent free cause I'm here taking care of her 27/7.
