supervisor who seem to enjoy making things difficult for me. She keeps stressing that I must be not afraid to ask her things but when I'm unsure how to go about doing my work and approached her, she would make a fool out of me with alot of words and insults to put me down and humiliates me infront of my colleagues.

I am a flight student and i want to get my (left) ear pierced once, but i'm a bit sceptical about doing it because i want to persue a career in the field of Commercial Aviation, as an Airline Transport Pilot, but im afraid that having a piercing in my ear would make the hiring airline have boubts about me (Even though i would not be wearing the earing at the time of the Interview or on the Job).

many people bring in things from home and decorate their desks with all sorts. I'm sitting at someone's desk (I'm a temp) and I can see 4 pictures of cats, a 'special mum' ornament, photos of the entire family and other fluffy toys. I just can't bring myself to feel at home at work at all. My desk would be so boring and plain as anything. Does anyone else feel like this, or do you in fact like a little taste of home at work?

I did a lot of thinking and decide to be a manager, seriously, how to be a manager?
I think
If work in the company, then
(1) I will perhaps work hard for years to be a manager
(2) If I get a MBA, then it saves time but still needs some time
If I start my own business, then
I will be a manager immediately

So how can I be a manager? I know it sounds a lil childlike but come on, everybody has a dream.

Thanks

I just graduated 1 year. Applied to UBS but failed after doing the numerical test.
I still would like to work in an investment bank, in equities or wealth management. I'm planning to take an MBA course to better my chances. I have a 2nd "A" Bachelors' degree in Arts (BA). May I ask:

Which MBA should I apply for if I want to get in the i-banking industry?

thanks a lot.

Seeking guidance from the wiser, older employees on yahoo groups...PLEASE GIVE ME WISDOM!!!

...so a fellow college buddy and me just graduated from college and both landed the same jobs on the same project.
On one hand, I feel this "friend" of mine always works against me. I don't feel he respects me. He always says the opposite of my analysis, and never stands by one argument.

More importantly, I feel he's always trying to "takeover"
--"stealing" my contacts
--wanting to always keep him "in the loop"
--always asking other people about my powerpoint but never the one who made them -- me.

Is this kind of character common in the workplace? Someone who is "leaching" off your work and never giving back?

...or, in the spirit of CHristmas, am I supposed to forgive, forget, and work with him?

I took my physical agility test the last week of October, passed it, went to be fingerprinted, and was told it takes 2 weeks for background check to get done at FBI. Was also told they have to hire 100 people, interviewing would be done in December and those hired would be called in January. I know the month isn't over and there's still a possibility. It just seems like it shouldn't take this long.

I was hired before the Holiday rush. The person who hired me said nothing about it being solely a seasonal job. But, considering it was just around the time they were hiring for season- who knows? My question is, how should I go about seeing if that was their purpose in hiring me. And if so, talk to them about making me a permanent employee. I really enjoy this job and don't want to leave if that is, indeed, their intent. Thanks for any advice.
