It is assumed you are the problem and get called on the carpet. In actuality the boss is not hearing about all the crap the person reporting you dishes out because you are not interested in keeping score and being a tattle tale. How does one protect themselves from that type of person?

I have been teaching English in Asia for 4 years now. Before, I was a Natural ADABAS analyst/programmer for 5 years. Is there any hope for me to return to the Natural ADABAS world after an absence of 4 years? I feel confident in myself, but I don't know if the companies would feel the same way (because of the absence of 4 years). I love programming and analysing problems and designing solutions for them.

In ye olden days, I may have fancied piracy on the open seas, but now I am more interested in finding respectable employment that includes travel, conflict ( I am highly risk tollerant) and community development.
Pay range 40K and up.
I also possess a shiny new BA in Communications.
'Wouldn't mind using it.
*Thank you for your input*.

I was offered an amazing position in a company. Everyone in my family was so proud, but now I find that they are being investigated by the Government and they have frozen hiring processes. It am letting everyone down. I counted my chickens before they hatched and am now in a terrible financial state. How do I break the ice about this. With the impending holidays?

I am stuck doing a job that I hate and I am very unhappy. I work for an online casino group and every day I see people lose money, and even when they win, the casino, finds excuses not to pay them. I cant take it any more. I have been looking for a new job for months now with no success. Could you let me know if you have any ideas?? I am desperate to leave this job.

I work with people, both young and old, who are trying to get their GED. the younger ones tend be punks and they hit on me. i'm pretty close their age. They say things like "are you going to be my teacher cause I'd have lots of fun with you." and so on. if it happened on the street i'd ignore it or say something rude. but i want to be professional. What is the best way to handle a situation like that?

I read somewhere that January is one of the highest job-seeking months in the year. I'd like to know some of the reasons people might be looking for a new job. Thanks!

he was there for 2.5 years, and was asst. man., the employees he was going to talk to the cops about, happen to be the new manager and her niece!(the niece is engaged to a convicted drug dealer) the only reason he was fired is because the manager is blackmailing the owner.

my friend was even laid off for 2 weeks, just to make sure he wasn't the one stealing food(at the rate of 500+ a week), while he was laid off, the man. and niece told everyone he was fired for stealing! my friend didnt go into work that whole time, and food was still missing, so he went back to work. he was laid off in spring of 2005, was fired in jan 2006.

2 questions!

1-should he put them on his resume? if he does, how can he stop the old job from lying about him?

2-if this happened to you, what would you do?

ps
he did get a letter from unemployment, stating that he was fired for wanting to talk to the police, and he did get unemployment.
