2 of my employees have taken insuboridination to an all new level
they did not come to work until 40 min after the store was to be opened, I got after them, they retaliated by telling the owners that I have EXPOSED myself to customers, that customers hate me because I am so rude and hateful, that I scream and cuss at them, more and more'
NONE of this is true
I am going to their store, to confront them, today with the owner.
What would be appropriate to say to these two b's?

I'm on vacation this week. My co worker just called to see if I could cut it short and come back tomorrow because she's sick. Normally I wouldn't mind but it's like she has this thing about staying out of work all the time. I'm hardlyever out but she leaves early almost every day and once I took a 3 day off for a family funeral and "paid" for it dearly by her leaving early every day the rest of the week. It's like she's in this unsaid game where whoever stays out of work the most wins. We share responsibilities for running our office and one of us has to be there every day. Our boss said we have to work this out amongst ourselves. Her vacation is next week and she's going out of town. I feel she's just trying to ruin my vacation. Am I wrong? She did sound like she had a stuffy nose but I'm kinda weary. She also has 8 years senority on me so she has like 3 times the vacation time I do and her leaving early all the time does not count against it. Suggestions?

The tattoo shop that I currently work at as my second job just turned really bad. I am close friends with the owners, but the other piercer at the shop (who has less experience then me) is trying to get me out of there by trying to tell the owners things about me that are wrong. I have a meeting with the owners tonight, and I am thinking about just resigning, but I really think they are making a big mistake with believing the other girl over me (especially since alot of it has to do with health and safety concerns in the shop) Should I just leave and let bygones be bygones and let it be?

Here's what happened:
My husband and I attended a non work related party, hosted by an employee, attended by many employees as well as the restaurant's owner.
The owner got beligerently drunk by the end of the night, and started calling me names. I called a cab to leave and when a cab pulled up I went to get my husband. He was in the back of the house with his boss. I told him the cab was here, and she started yelling that she had called a cab first and it was her cab. She was accusing me of stealing her cab. My husband jumped to my defense and things got escalated and ugly. We offered her the cab but she didn't want the cab, she just wanted a fight. My husband ended of screaming at her and we just got in the cab and left.

If she wanted a cab so bad, wouldn't she be waiting at the front steps like I was?

Can we sue for wrongful termination if she fires him today? or if she reduces his hours to nil because of this? How about intentional infliction of emotional distress?

I'm about one and a half years out of grad school. I have a good job, but it leads to nothing. I keep hearing about freinds from high school making six figures or opening businesses or just lucking into great jobs in great areas (I still live in the same town I grew up in). I get so jealous that I really want to kill myself. Is there a name for this complex or disorder that I have? How do I work on this? I know I would probably feel better if my job wasn't a dead-end, but no other companies seem interested. How do I feel better in the meantime??

I'm sick of following everyone else and just hoping everything works out in the end. I need a plan now. I love music. [i've been in band at school for 7 years; i play over 10 instruments.] i don't want to keep playing classical music. i don't want to direct because i have a bad temper and i'd throw things. i have a band, but i don't want to be relying solely on that. i want to tour the world with a band. i want to continue being a promoter my whole life. i want to have fun. but i need to figure out what i have to do to accomplish this. help?

Do you agreed with the following:

1. Shorter men (men under 5' 5") often get overlooked for promotion and never get to management level?

2. Clean shaven men have more of a chance of getting promoted than men with moustaches?

What do you think the reasons are for this?

MY FRIENDS SAID THIS: Whats your take?

"I understand that women want equality in the work place, and trust me when I say that I am all for that.
HOWEVER, and please be open minded when I say this...women who chose this lifestyle need to not think about their families, kids, etc. Men, in history have always been hunters and gatherers...men have always provided...it's what we do. So men are natural in the workplace, just as our very nature to a physical/sexual nature, we give up our penis, while a woman takes it in.

Women then have to bear the child and take care of them. Women who then decide to leave the house to then allow someone else to take care of their children and pursue their career again lose focus on their kids, who end up being crack addicts, emotionally unattached, and those screaming kids in
stores becuase mom and and dad don't give them enough attention. WOMEN,need to make a choice, career or family, it can't be both...i'm sorry, that's just the way I feel"

On most jobs websites 90-100% of the jobs are advertised by agencies. www.MrJob.co.uk is a new website featuring only employers vacancies. Is this a good idea ? Would you prefer to avoid using agencies ?
A team of final year students are carrying out a market research project and need the opinion of both job seekers and employers.
Please could you look at MrJob.co.uk and complete the survey on the website. If you know anyone else looking for work please direct them to this website, they might find a good job!
