My daughter did the medical billing course, completed it and worked for the company about 6 months and made about $500 total. She said it was a complete waste of her time. They wanted her to go to doctor's officies and try to sign them up for the service even though they promised her lots of work once she completed the course. It was just not what it was promised to be.

I was going to, but after I researched it for a bit and started projecting into time after I would be done, I was afraid because you have to go out and find Doctors who have to trust this new biller to take all their vital info & bill for their monies.
I mean you have to start out some where but I actually went to Dr.'s offices around my home and asked if they may need some help with there billing and collections or did they outsource their work? Of the 6 I went to NONE of them used private billers. 2 offices sent their billing to the main Hospital billing dept. and the other 4 offices did the billing themselves.
So me being "not a sales person" found it hard to come up with a pitch for the dr's offices to 'give me a try'.
I have done billing & collections for 2 other places and if YOU really want to get a feel for it first that may be the way to go. I don't mean to be discouraging, you may have more connections and be good at selling yourself. My cousin does transcription from home and loves it but she started out at the hospital and took classes and they hired her as a n independant consultant.
My best to you.
