2 of my employees have taken insuboridination to an all new level
they did not come to work until 40 min after the store was to be opened, I got after them, they retaliated by telling the owners that I have EXPOSED myself to customers, that customers hate me because I am so rude and hateful, that I scream and cuss at them, more and more'
NONE of this is true
I am going to their store, to confront them, today with the owner.
What would be appropriate to say to these two b's?

I would stay to the facts, that they are insubordinate, and that they were late for work by over 40 minutes. if this is the first thing they have done, you may be required to have more incidents before you can actually fire them, now i dont know all the circumstances here, if they are at-will employees, etc... but if you have the authority to terminate them, then by all means excercise it they dont sound like the kind of peeps i would want working for me. as to answering the allegations made about you, i would simply say (if you are accountable to answer that is) that these rumors are unfounded, and obviously made in retaliation for your disciplinary action taken against the employees, and warn them that if they continue, that you will press civil charges against them for defamation of charachter (which you can do.. but probably wont win but if they are stupid and it sound like they are, it might deter them from opening their mouths again). Other than that, you are the boss correct?
As an old military buddy told me, when your in command.... COMMAND!!!!

If they have no evidence to that fact, then they have no case against you. If there has been no witnesses or letters written to the store about any alleged behavior, then you can't get in trouble.
I'm sure it will be obvious to the owner that they are being childish and lashing out at you because of their wrongdoing.
I would just say to them, "It's obvious that this isn't working out," hand them their final paycheck, "We don't need you here anymore."
I would go after their job performance and their habitual lateness, rather than their attacking you. You need to come across as strong, and telling them that it's because they went to your boss doesn't look very good.

In Alabama (where I unfortunately live), an employer does not legally have to inform an employee why they are being terminated before firing them. This may also be true where you live. While you do need to explain yourself to the supervisor, you don't have to lay out the whole story to the employees.
I agree with whoever else said just to tell them to leave and not argue with them. You want to be the proven professional and not sink to their level.
Good luck - I'm sure it won't be easy .

If you are they direct supervisor and have good grounds for their termination, just keep a writen record of all the facts and just fire them, since your boss put you on that position that means that he/she knows you are capable of handling any situation, so moreover you just get the job done regardless of what they might say to your boss, just keep facts handy and any witnesses if possible.

Do they have actual customers who would back their allegations? If not, it's just hearsay. Write them up for being late and anything else to get them their 3 write ups that will get them fired.
