same stuff, just a matter of different wording. resume sounds more american english like, while CV is more internationally used.

apparently there is a difference as far as american english is concerned (not sure how much it is known):
americans refer to résumé as a document containing a list of relevant job and education experience used for seeking a job within private companies, whereas CV (Curriculum Vitae) is used while seeking employment in academic enivroments.

Resumes are more oriented towards use by people who have a solid work history that can be presented favorably in a linear fashion. A CV (Curriculum Vitae) is better suited to people who either have less experience in traditional jobs or who have jobs interspersed with schooling, volunteer work or other relevant experience that is better presented in a more free-form manner.

There is no difference. They are two different names for the same thing. Even in America, cv is becoming more commonly used.
