Have you ever heard of the phrase "Kill Them With Kindness"? Well, that's what you need to do. No matter how bad of a day you may be having ALWAYS appear friendly to the customer. Also, don't let anything a customer says or does get to you personally. If a customer says or does something that gets to you don't let them know that it did. If it's really bad ALWAYS get your supervisor involved and let them resolve the problem. If it's just something that's annoying or dumb then don't let them ,or any other customers, know that it bothered you. Keep a journal and write it down during your break, lunch, or after your shift. That way you can get it out of your system.
I hope this helps. Good luck and happy holidays!!

The most important thing when working with customers is to make them believe that they have your undivided attention and that you are listening to their request. Each customer should feel valued, no matter what the price is on the price tag. Treat each customer the same, no matter their age or how they are dressed.

Patience and professionalism. Being pleasant no matter how unpleasant the customer gets can defuse a lot of crap. And the more professional you are at handling complaints, the better the transaction will go.

some issues take longer than others to resolve but have me standing there waiting for you to finish shooting the s*** with your co-workers. So to answer your question, the most important thing would be the service part.

Pay attention to what they are asking or saying, if they are not sure of what they are looking for make suggestions similar to what they are looking for, If they are purchasing something that you can sell with something else, suggest it to them, BUT DO THIS WITH A SMILE.
