I am building residential single family, and I am trying to get bids from subs. However, I am having a hard time because these subs they seems not to be interested at the job, and they don't reply on the job. I am building 2.2 million dollars home here in Georgia, I thought the size of the project should alone attract subs to work for me.

What is your tips on this? Any advice?

I found a web. www.gapyearforgrownups.com.
There trips look amazing and I'd love to go to Africa to work with animals - has anyone done it alone and how did you get on? How safe did you feel? Did you 'find' yourself?

When I say job, I mean a position as an analyst and NOT just someone who answers phone calls or fixes the PC's.

Would you accept a new job (slightly senior level), but only at 16% higher than what you are getting now?

I know the rule of thumb is about 25%, but sometimes that may not be possible if the seniority level between the new and current job is not that far apart.

I went to an job agency yesterday to register with them for a new permanent job. As I discussed my work history I was asked why I left one of my jobs. I said the position wasn’t suited to me. When I told them this they didn’t see it as a good enough reason to leave. They asked why it wasn’t suited to me and I told them the reason why I left was because I was victimised and harassed by the managers about my work. This is the truth. Have I shot myself in the foot and created a problem for myself by telling them I was harrassed and victimised in the past??

It is inevitable that one of the questions during an interview is going to be "what are some of your weaknesses?" I know my weaknesses very well, but I don't know how to tell the interviewer without making myself seem like a complete idiot. How would I shine some light on this weakness:

My absolute weakest point is my inability to learn or be able to do something by following audio directions. If someone is trying to explain how to do something without showing me, I will not be able to do it. For example, a co-worker was trying to explain to me how to use a new part of a program (I was already familiar with the program other than this new component). When she was finished explaining, I couldn't have used this new component for the life of me.

That being said, I am a VERY fast hands-on learner. People are always impressed with my ability to catch on when I am physically using the programs that I am learning.

Please help!

I work in a retail department store. I want to leave the union. My workplace and co-workers are very nice and nobody has problems with non-union workers. I'm worried the union candidates (The union appoints certain employees to hold union authority) might try to do something unfair towards me because I chose to leave. Should I be worried????
