The job part will be easier than the car part. There are tons of retail and fast food jobs that depend on 17 year olds. For the car-- lower your expectations, don't expect a new vehicle and don't buy a really flashy car because the insurance and payments will kill you. Learn to live within your means and buy a car you can afford. Good luck!

There really is no such thing as "easy money". Hard work is what you need. The sooner you learn this the more financially sound you will be. Try to find a baby-sitting job or walk dogs for elderly people. If you live in a city that has a subway or bus you have a better opportunity to find more jobs. The economy is slow right now but don't give. You CAN do it. Have faith in yourself!

Unfortunately retail is your only option at this time in your life unless you are a computer geek, but dealerships will get you a lone and sell you a car since you will be able to say you have a job.
