I work in a retail department store. I want to leave the union. My workplace and co-workers are very nice and nobody has problems with non-union workers. I'm worried the union candidates (The union appoints certain employees to hold union authority) might try to do something unfair towards me because I chose to leave. Should I be worried????

Its your choice to leave the union or not/
The union's role is not to terrorise those that leave it. Its not a gang! If less people join the union, it means the conditions are getting better, dont u agree?

Actually, Unions are still quite strong and it depends how supportive members of the union are...as to their reaction to you. Although, from your description, I don't think you would have too many problems. Although, why are you leaving the union in the first place is the question you might be asked...which you don't owe anyone any real explaination. I love my Union...it has a variety of good benefits and they have been very supportive in times of need...such as protecting employees rights, as where non-union members would be out of luck.

No, just leave. Unions are from the old days. If you don't like your job, then quit.
