There are two types of tests. Some tell you what you have an aptitude for others help you figure out what you would enjoy doing. In my experience, once you've got more than a couple of years of job experience the aptitude test is useless, as you will always score highest in the area(s) that you have been working in.

A few years ago I was at a career crossroads and took the interest test. Most colleges and universities give these tests and the fee includes discussing your results with a real person. The school is able to keep the cost down by having graduate students do the post-test sessions and by putting people in groups to get their results. I found this session (which ended up being private because nobody else showed) very helpful, as we actually talked about what my results, my hobbies, my favorite parts of prior jobs and things like that told me about what I'd like to do with my life. We came up with some career options that I definitely would not have thought of if I'd just been handed my results.

Good Luck!

There are lots of these types of things out there. Don't rely on just one and take it as Gospel truth, but it could lead you in a direction you haven't thought of before. Check with your local unemployment office, private or public school counselors, or even private job placement firms. Don't pay a large fee for this, it generally costs very little or nothing. I'm sure there are some available on the web as well.

Go see a careers advisor, they can do some tests and work out what you would be best suited for. Most of the tests are questionaires. The careers advisor will have other soft ware products taht can be used to work out your attributes. Good luck

Aptitude Testing can provide a unique insight into an individual's talents, as they measure one's characteristics and ability to acquire additional skills. Aptitude testing can help pinpoint where one's strengths lie.
A vocational counselor can help you with this testing. Check with local employment services to see where this might be available.

Yes, search for "career help" and you will find some answers. I suggest also the Meyers-Briggs psychology test.

The most popular (and apparently most reliable) are the American one's that they give to students just about to finish high school.

I think this might be the website:

I took the Centigrade test.

Only problem is that it says that everyone should be a publisher or farmer as well as sensible suggestions.
