I'm a 23 year old mechanical engineer. I've had experience (well not much considering my age) with both the office engineering job and the field engineering job. And after doing the office job for about a year, I know that I can't last in the environment. So I was wondering what my options are. I've been looking into environmental engineering and civil engineering, but I don't know if the companies would be willing to take the time to train me. I'm looking for an engineering job that is not only outdoors and exciting, but also challenging and rewarding. Simply put, I don't have the capacity or energy to sit and stare at a computer all day, every day until I retire. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

P.S. I live in southern California, if that helps.

I am still employed but am being put on performance plan that is impossible to fullfill. I am told to accomplish all the tasks in the plan successfully by end of this month or i will be terminated. I am still employed with the company but i know that my boss has purposely been setting me up for failure. A senior male co-work told me that a lady who worked in the company a few years ago was also pressured to resign by my boss. Now, i am in a very similar situation. Unfortunately, i don't have her contact information to get further info or understanding of her situation at the time...

I have filed paper work with the state agency and don't know when i should get a lawyer involved....not sure if i have a case.

And if I resign before my deadline date, does it mean i have given up my right to sue????

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks you.

My boyfriend just got an opportunity to design a movie poster for a high-end company. Before he walks in we were wondering what the average person should be paid for this sort of job. I know there are variables involved, but it would probably be for a world released poster and we would love some ballpark ideas. Thanks!

Why is it so hard for people of 40s age to find jobs? Even though they have complete requirements. They are more reliable and stable people. Why is that?
My mom is very educated, she has degrees from other country. She changed her career from Nursing to Pharmacy Technician. She is certified and licensed. She has been doing volunteer work since 2 yrs. and she is not getting hired anywhere. She looks every day for job online, on newspaper, she asked her friends, but those friends are very SELFISH they don't want to see others succeed. She is a single parent, I understand she feel very stressed and frustrated since she is not getting any job replies. I am full time college student, I can't work full time to helo her. I just don't get it, why she isn't getting hired by walgreens's pharmacy, or Osco, or CVS, or other retail pharmacy, even the hospital pharmacies. They never reply. What could be the reason? Now, I am getting streesed out.

I've been having a problem with a coworker who enjoys harrassing people at work, and gets a kick out of stressing people out. I told management about this preson in March but they didn't do anything to resolve the problem. I just recently gave my two weeks notice and another coworker of mine told management I was leaving because of this bad coworker. Management asked me to type up all the things this bad coworker has been doing to make my (and other workers) job difficult. Should I help management out? I'm kind of mad that they didn't listen to me in March when I first told them of this problem... instead they let me be harassed by this coworker for four months.
