In New York Waiters get $4.35 an hour now, as the lowest wages have just risen. I would imagine the average for the US is about $3.50. Anyhow this is unimportant as the bulk of the money is made in tips. At an Olive Garden Restaurant, the usual setup is 3-4 tables per server. It may sound like a small amount however business is constant and the tables are always full for your entire shift with a few exceptions.

Generally you would want to avoid working Breakfast or Lunch shifts at any restaurant.

Most establishments give the waiter all tips minus a certain percentage for the bussers, bartenders and sometimes hostess'. This is usually about $5-$25 depending on the amount you make that night.

If you decide to work at the Olive Garden, you should expect to bring home anywhere from $45-$125 a night depending on business.

Some places will pay you your credit card tips in your actual check, others will cash you out at the end of every shift.

It is a good job for quick cash in your pocket at the end of the night, however it can be one of the most stressful jobs as well

Good luck!

I'm pretty sure it depends on which state you work in. Server pay in Kentucky is $2.13 an hour. I work at Red Lobster, which is owned by the same company as Olive Garden (Darden). Yeah, you get the tips...as long as you kiss lots of a**.
