Contact any employment resource centres, they would have access to training that is funded by the government for people that have barriers to employment. ( Canada)

You might check out a Truck Driving school if the crime you were convicted of did not affect your driving record. If you have a DUI, it needs to be at least 5yrs. ago.
There is such a shortage in the industry that some of the companies are relaxing their standards on this.
I am an Instructor, and currently have a student that just got off parole.
You may check your state employment office, as some states have a program that will pay for the school.
If not and you are hired by a large company, they will pay for your school.

I would think the counselors in prison would give you ideas or phone numbers to help you...they would at least find out who was hiring that would accept ex-offenders...
