Give me, in your opinion, the most important part of an interview. What is the one thing that made you stand out from all the other candidates? What was the deal breaker?

I live on the ocean in RI. I am currently bored with my current job and I know I can do more than this. I would like to pursue my dream of owning a unique Surfshop/Restaurant, similar to that of the Rainforest Cafe. But completly different details of course. What do you think of the idea?

The average work week in America is now between 50 - 60 hours.
I am looking for a career that affords time off enough to be home with my family instead of always getting slammed with long work weeks.
I don't mind a reduction in pay as I would rather have family time over money.

Do you know of any jobs that are not extensive hours that still make decent money?

I am a student in College and i was wondering what are some ways that I can get a job under basketball operations or in the basketball corporations. Also what would help me get a job meaning: what internships should I look for in trying to get a career in the basketball industry? Do i need to have a certain GPA, do i need to do specific interns, things of that nature would help me understand what i have to do to ensure me a job after i graduate college and enter graduate school. Thank you for your help!

I am an English grad who would like to be her own boss. I am 100% confident in my writing and editing skills, but am unsure how to break into the copywriting world. I've tried doing cold-calls (hi, i'm a copywriter who helps companies create brochures, web-content and other copy.would you be interested in receiving some information on my services?), and doing mass-mailouts, but my responses have been low and i'm getting discouraged. what do i do?

how did you get started?
am i being unrealistic?
what is your biggest mistake?
what is your best advice?
should i targert mid-sized companies, or go for big ones? (i don't have a very great book yet).
how do you approach big companies?

i'm learning as i go, but i am getting really discouraged. i can't do my current job forever!

any help would be greatly appreciated.
